Head of lab

Henrique N. Sá Earp

Professor at IMECC/UNICAMP · Vice-Director of CBG

Works on geometric flows and on gauge theory over manifolds with special geometric structures, especially G2-structures in dimension seven, with applications to string and M-theory. He is also Executive Manager of BI0S, the Brazilian Institute of Data Science.

Postdoc

Edward Hirst

FAPESP postdoctoral fellow at IMECC/UNICAMP

Applies machine learning to problems in mathematical and theoretical physics, with a recent focus on differential geometry. His work covers metrics and forms on geometries tied to string compactifications, information geometry for AI, and cluster algebras. PhD from City St George's, University of London; previously a postdoc at Queen Mary University of London.

PhD candidate

Tomás S. R. Silva

PhD in Mathematics at IMECC/UNICAMP

Uses machine learning and AI in complex differential geometry and algebraic geometry, building numerical pipelines and heuristic searches. A computer engineer by training (Unicamp), he founded and directs MathIA AmLat, a Latin American community on AI in mathematical research.
